Marcos Markovitis is the third generation of viticulturists and winemakers at Markovitis Winery, first (modern-day) producer in Greece to practice organic grape-growing. Found in the region of Naoussa in the very north of Greece, near the border with Macedonia, Markovitis is famous for making Nebbiolo-style wines that can be just as ageworthy. Bright, structured and confidently spicy, the Markovitis Alkemi Rosé 2023 delivers bold Xinomavro character with poise. Vibrant pink grapefruit and macerated strawberry are lifted by rose petal florals and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. A firm spine of acidity carries subtle tannic grip and baking-spice warmth, finishing dry, bittersweet and perfectly mouthwatering.
